Roadworks from 10pm to 5am along C5, EDSA and other Metro Manila roads—Nighttime schedule safer for workers against intense heat

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced last Tuesday, May 14 that the following roads will be closed from 10:00pm to 5:00am until the roadworks are completed. 

• C-5 Ortigas Flyover Northbound/Southbound
• C-5 Ortigas Flyover (Westbound)
• C-5 Ortigas Interchange Flyover to Tiendesitas
• Ortigas Avenue before bridge approach (EB)
• C-5 Road Northbound near Gap 1
• Manila East Road (WB) near Jollibee corner Amang
• EDSA Ortigas Interchange to San Juan
• EDSA Shaw Flyover (WB) near Approach A

The roadworks involve the removal of existing asphalt, asphalt overlay and excavation works with pipe laying. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes during these times.

As our country is still grappling with the intense heat, our road workers’ safety should be strongly prioritized. Therefore, the scheduling of roadworks at nighttime is greatly beneficial for their safety and well-being, as they are not directly affected by the intense heat during daytime.
