In construction projects, purchasing the right materials is one of the most important tasks to complete. With durable materials and excellent construction methods, a structure will probably be stable and stand the test of time. However, without proper materials, it can delay the progress of the project or even affect the overall quality of the building.
All over the world, construction material prices are affected by fluctuating economies. Construction purchasing managers try to scope the market for the best purchase that will present them with high-quality materials at a suitable price, and monitoring the changing prices will help them gauge what the cost of their project will be. In this article, we will highlight recent data on this year’s construction material prices.
Construction Material Price Points Q4 2023
Last year, the Philippine Statistics Authority revealed a significant drop in the price of selected commodities needed to generate construction materials, and this price decrease impacted the retail price of construction materials. From the start of this year until June, the price of these commodities continued to decrease, and so did the prices of construction materials.
According to Metal Exponents, some of the most common construction materials in the Philippines are plywood, steel, concrete, brick, and roofing materials. The price points of these materials have also dropped along with the decrease in commodities needed to generate construction materials. Below are the local price points of these common construction materials in the final quarter of 2023. It is important to note that all prices listed below are the average price, meaning the price during purchase may be higher or lower in actuality.
