Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project’s Detailed Engineering Design to Start this December 2021

Better news for Laguna residents!

The detailed engineering design (D.E.D.) for the proposed Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project will begin on December 2021, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) (LLRN).

This comes after DPWH Acting Secretary Roger “Oging” Mercado, together with Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil K. Sadain, UPMO Roads Management Cluster 2 Project Director Sharif Madsmo H. Hasim, and Department Chief Accountant Mary Antoinette Z. Puno, signed the Consultant’s Services Contract for the D.E.D. of LLRN Project – Phase 1, a 37.60-kilometer main route connecting Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, and Calamba City, Laguna.

LLRN to boost road transport efficiency

The launch of LLRN D.E.D. is another noteworthy achievement in one of the department’s key infrastructure projects, according to Undersecretary Sadain, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s designated Chief Implementer of the Build Build Build (BBB) Program.

According to Sadain, the LLRN Project will improve:

• road transport efficiency in Metro Manila and neighboring regions,
• provide additional opportunities to stakeholders,
• employment,
• traffic by decongestion,
• movement of goods and services will be much easier, and so much more.

Construction of the LLRN

The D.E.D. will be financed in part by a loan from the Asian Development Bank’s Infrastructure Preparation and Innovation Facility (IPIF) under loan number 3886-PHI.

The project will be carried out for 15 months, from December 2021 to February 2023, under a contract agreement of 135.485 million.

LLRN Features

Phase I of the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project includes eight (8) interchanges in Sucat, Alabang, Tunasan, San Pedro/Binan, Santa Rosa, Cabuyao, and Calamba along a major alignment of 37.60 kilometers.

With an onshore viaduct and embankment connecting Muntinlupa to Calamba for a total distance of 25.80 kilometers, this two-lane primary route connects Lower Bicutan with Muntinlupa.

An additional one (1) lane will be added in each direction from Sucat, Muntinlupa to Sta. Rosa, Laguna, as well as a cycling track and promenade from Tunasan, Muntinlupa to San Pedro, Laguna.
